Royal Park Grassland Circle (failed)
A bold and early attempt to create a direct-seeded grassland circle on the crown of an iconic Melbourne park. Project failed due to management difficulties related to weed invasion. Ironically, the most successful area was over the remains of an old bitumen carpark, which provided a low-nutrient substrate for the seeding.
Main photo: Initially magnificent, but quickly succumbing to weeds, an inspired indea realised fleetingly on the cresting slope of the park
