A proposed freight hub threatens to destroy high-quality grasslands that lie adjacent to the Western Grassland Reserve. Works would severely impact numerous grasslands nearby, in particular Boadles Lane Grassland. In December 2023 the state planning minister determined an Environmental Effects Statement is required.
