We thought we’d start the Grassy Plains Network tours early this year to catch the long flowering reason.
Join Deb Reynolds as she leads us through St Albans Railway Reserve and Denton Ave Grassland from 1-3pm on Sunday 10 September.
St Albans is a small reserve right next to the train line, famous for harbouring several endangered species, and one of the early grasslands to be intensively studied in the 70s and 80s.
Derrimut, the old Sunshine Tip, is larger and has some great conservation values.
We will meet at the corner of Ruth Street and West Esplanade, St Albans at 1pm. You can park the other side of the rail line and take the bridge across.
Bring high-vis vest please, sensible footwear, water and dress for the weather. We’ll then drive to Denton Avenue Grassland (Use “63 Denton Avenue, St Albans” in your GPS) to be there at 2pm.
